Job Title: Associate Accountant AR



Reports to: Associate Manager Accts. Receivable




Department: Accounting



FLSA Status: Exempt




Entity/Location: Accounting SSC / Trinity



Prepared/Approved: 4/2018


Job Summary: We are currently seeking an exceptional candidate to be part of the Accounting team at Tempur Sealy. The successful candidate will have an ability to thrive in an environment of rapid change; work effectively within cross-functional teams; and possess a strong set of communication skills. The Associate Accountant will primarily be focused on servicing our direct to consumer customers by performing the following essential responsibilities:



  • Develop and maintain accounts receivable reports through Oracle to help monitor customer balances and payment trends.

  • Execute daily credit card transaction processing through Cybersource to ensure successful settlement, invoicing and payment posting

  • Assist with month end close reporting, account reconciliations, journal entries and adhoc reporting

  • Provide assistance to resolve customer inquiries by partnering with consumer care departments

  • Identify errors that occur with specific transactions and take the necessary steps to resolve

  • Assist in implementing automation projects to promote better efficiencies and reduce manual transactions.

  • Aid in the testing of new programs, processes, and upgrades as necessary.

  • Perform backup functions for accounts receivable daily responsibilities and tasks.

  • Complete special projects as required.

Other primary duties and responsibilities include the following; however, Management reserves the right to assign or reassign other appropriate duties to this job at any time. Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from four-year college or university

  • Minimum of one (1) year of related experience and/or training

Training/Equipment:



  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite


Work Environment/Physical Requirements: Fast-paced corporate office environment. Some stress may occur. Travel around scheduled projects such as program rollouts may be necessary.
