Quinnipiac University is committed to providing high quality academic programs in a student-oriented environment, on a campus with a strong sense of community. The uniquely attractive Mount Carmel campus of 250 acres is located minutes from New Haven, mid-way between New York City and Boston, and offers a variety of majors along with internship and clinical experiences in Business, Communications, Health Sciences, Education, Liberal Arts and Sciences and Law to the 5,500 undergraduate and 2,000 graduate and part time students. Excellent facilities such as the fully digital high-definition production studio in the Ed McMahon Center for Mass Communications, the Sports bio mechanics 'motion analysis' lab, the Critical Care lab for Nursing and Physician Assistant students, and the Financial Technology Center, provide state-of-the-art training experiences. Twenty-one athletic teams compete in Division I sports. The TD Banknorth 3500 seat 'twin' arenas for basketball and ice hockey opened January 2007 on the nearby York Hill campus of 250 acres. Quinnipiac is adjacent to the 1,700 acre Sleeping Giant State park with trails for hiking and scenic views.
